Ford Falcon

Wikipedia
In this article, we take a look at the Ford Falcon and more specifically, the different models which have been manufactured over the years.
Cars are without a doubt one of the most common interests among modern society and with manufactures releasing several new cars every year, it’s definitely one of the more ever-changing interests. In this article, we are going to focus in on the Ford Falcon model and take a look at some of the different cars which have been released under this model over the years. The 4 cars which we are going to take a look at are:
- The 1964 Ford Falcon
- The Ford Falcon XR6
- The Ford Falcon FG
- The Ford Falcon FG X
So, without further ado, let’s jump right into it.
A Little About Ford
Ford, more formally known as Ford Motor Company, is one of the largest automotive companies across the globe. They are most known for the manufacture of their cars, although they additionally manufacture individual car parts which can be bought for consumer use.
Ford was initially launched back in June of 1903 by the founder, Henry Ford. Based in Michigan, Ford has without a doubt earned its place among the automotive industry and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
What about the cars that they manufacture? Ford manufacture all of their own car parts for the cars that they produce. While they have produced thousands of different car models, to this day only a limited number of these models are available as they continue to release newer models by the year. While that’s the case, today we are going to focus on one of the oldest Ford models which is out there and has scaled from generation to generation. The Ford Falcon. The first Ford Falcon to be manufactured was the 1964 Ford Falcon, which is where we are going to begin.

About the 1964 Ford Falcon
Before we get into some of the new models, we’re going to start with an older model, the 1964 Ford Falcon.
As with many cars which were produced in the 1960’s, the 1964 Ford Falcon was a 2-door car and more specifically, a 2-door sedan. Again, as with many cars produced during this time, this car was a rear-wheel drive. Below are some of the key features which are worth mentioning in regard to the 1964 Ford Falcon. One thing which a lot of consumers did not originally suspect was the size of the car itself. Unlike many other cars which were around back in this time, the 1964 Ford Falcon shows to be larger, bulkier, and had generally more of a square shape, than any of the previous Ford cars.
10 years after the initial release of the 1964 Ford Falcon came the release of the Ford Maverick. Similarly, to the 1964 Ford Falcon, the Ford Maverick was a compact car too and proved to live up to its expectations following its predecessor. Due the age of this specific model, you are currently unable to purchase it.

About the Ford Falcon XR6
The next Ford car that we’re going to take a look at is the Ford Falcon XR6 which unfortunately, is a car which is only produced in Australia. If you’re from elsewhere in the world, then this car will be the envy of you and will do nothing but make you jealous of the experience which Australian drivers get to go through. Below are some of the key features which are worth mentioning in regard to the Ford Falcon XR6.
- Wheels: 18-Inch Alloy Wheels
- Fog Lamps on Front of the Car
- Sports Read & Front Bumpers
- Leather Steering Wheel
- Rain Sensor Window Wipers
- Leather Seats
There are of course a lot deeper specifications available regarding this car, although these are the details which I find stand out the most when it comes to the driving experience itself. The Ford Falcon XR6 is a rear wheel drive car and since the initial release of this specific model, it has been limited to Australia and Ford have shown no change in this course of action. Having only been released in the recent years, you are still able to currently purchase the Ford Falcon XR6.

About the Ford Falcon FG
Similar to the Ford Falcon XR6, the Ford Falcon was a car which had only been manufactured in
Australia and was therefore limited to this country. Unfortunately, the manufacturing of the Ford Falcon FG was discontinued as of October 2014, although the car itself is still of interest.
The Ford Falcon FG was a car which Ford had decided was going to be a turning point in how they manufactured their cars. While the continued to stick with their generic rear wheel drive and 18-inch alloy wheels, factors such as improving the interior design of the car and thus providing a much stronger and pleasurable driver experience. The main focus behind the development of this car was to ensure that it was a viable long-term purchase.

About the Ford Falcon FG X
The last car that we are going to take a look at, and the last car of the FG series, is the Ford Falcon FG X. This car is incredibly similar to the Ford Falcon FG although there are few details which make it that much different and which make it very worth the purchase.
If you aren’t interested too much in the core specifics of the Ford Falcon FG X, then the first thing that is going to catch your interest is the price tag. While the price tag of this car goes higher than the Ford Falcon FG, the price increase is undoubtedly worth it.
What makes it worth it? The main noticeable difference which makes the Ford Falcon FG X worth it opposed to the Ford Falcon FG, is the smooth driving experience which it provides. Unlike other cars, a noticeably smoother driving experience is ensured.

To Conclude…
As we previously mentioned, the interest in cars is a popular one and if you aren’t already a keen car enthusiast, the Ford Falcon’s which we have discussed above should without a doubt persuade you to consider it as a keen interest.
Furthermore, if you are looking to purchase a new Ford vehicle in the upcoming months and have no interest in purchasing a car which has a large price-tag attached to it, then checking out a car such as the Ford Falcon FG or the Ford Falcon FG X are both viable options, given that neither the 1964 Ford Falcon or Ford Falcon XR6 are available anymore.
